March 2007 Congratulations to Bridget Brind who was awarded the OBE in the New Year Honours for her work in Iraq at the British Embassy, Baghdad. Bridget works for the Foreign Office and she was posted to Iraq in 2005. Bridget is a descendant of Captain William Barcham of Mundesley.
March 2007 Brendon Roberts and Helen Drury were married on 16 March at Thornton Park, Balmain, Sydney, NSW. Friends and family from Australia, England and New Zealand came to celebrate. Brendon and Helen have two sons, Sam and Tom. Brendon is a descendant of Captain William Barcham of Mundesley.
November 2007 Robyn Ramsey reports that her mother Joan Constance (née Rowberry)
McVicar died on 26 October at her home in Papatoetoe, Manukau, New Zealand. Joan,
a descendant of Captain Robert Barcham of Cromer, through his son Robert William
Barcham, had recently celebrated her 87th birthday. Joan leaves her husband Bob,
five children, 12 grandchildren and eight great-
November 2007 Peter Whisker reports that his aunt Rosalie (née Barcham) Hamilton passed away on 6 November at the Kylemore Clinic in South Dublin, aged 84. Her funeral was at St Paul's, Glenageary, Co Dublin on 10 November. Rosalie was the daughter of William Henry Barcham, who emigrated to Canada, and a descendant of Captain William Barcham of Mundesley. She is survived by two children, Catherine Walsh and Stephen Hamilton, and five grandchildren.
November 2007 With great regret we announce the death of William (Bill) Robert Waterhouse on 5 November in Florence, while on a European tour. A memorial service was held in St Michael’s Church, Highgate, North London on 23 November. The burial service was held on 1 December in Gloucestershire.
December 2007 Heather Barcham reports that her aunt Lillian (née Barcham) French passed away on 26 November at a care home in Montmorency, Victoria, where she had lived for some years. Lillian, aged 99 years, was the last surviving granddaughter of Henry Barcham, the first Barcham to settle in Australia. She was the daughter of William Henry Barcham and his second wife Bethia. Lillian married David French (d.1970) in 1936. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
